Policy Classes

CA DLP contains several Classes (such as Non Public Information). In turn, each Class is implemented though various Policies (such as Sales Information).

For categorization purposes, you can associate individual triggers with a particular policy class. This information gets stored with an event's metadata when the trigger activates. All triggers support policy classes. You can then use the iConsole to search for events associated with a policy class.

Policy classes also underpin the policy-based security model. Under this model, a reviewer is only permitted to see events captured by specific classes of trigger.

To set up a policy class

  1. In the User Policy Editor, select the trigger you want to configure.
  2. Expand the trigger folder, then right-click the Policy class setting and choose Properties.
  3. In the Policy Class Properties dialog, expand the Browse tree of pre-defined classes to select the policy class you want for the trigger.
  4. Save the policy changes.

Note: Available policy classes are predefined in the CMS database.
