NBA Console

The NBA console is a Web-based utility that you use to manage NBA operations, monitor the hardware and collect diagnostic data.

You use the following screens to perform key NBA tasks.

Bivio 2000 Appliances
Administration screen

This is the key NBA console screen. You use this screen to set the NBA packet processing on or off, to run in active or passive mode (stream blocking), and to specify where the NBA outputs captured data to (local folders or a remote policy engine). You can also set secure logon credentials for the NBA console user and NBA share user

When you first set up the NBA, you also use this screen to assign IP addresses to the NBA to integrate it into your corporate network. You can also set secure logon credentials for the NBA console user and NBA share user.

Applications screen

This is where you start and stop the NBA service.

Policy screen

This is where you configure some of the NBA policy settings. In turn, these control data capture operations.

Bivio 7000 Appliances

Note: When the NBA is running on a Bivio 7000 appliance, you must use Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 or 8 to browse to the NBA console.

Interface screen

This is the new name for the Adminstration screen. See the description above for details.

Applications screen

This is where you start and stop the NBA service.

Filters screen

This is the new name for the Policy screen. See the description above for details.

On a Bivio 7000 appliance, this screen contains significantly more settings than the Policy screen on Bivio 2000 appliances.
