Console Support for Far Eastern Characters

Applicable to the CMS and gateways

CA DLP consoles can display captured or imported events and user names that contain Far Eastern characters. However, for this to work correctly your Oracle database must be correctly configured to provide Unicode support.

To do this, set the database character set to UTF-8. Do this when you set up your Oracle database for CA DLP, not when you create an Oracle user for CA DLP.

Important! Failure to do this will mean that the Oracle character encoding scheme will be unable to convert and store Unicode characters correctly. For example, individual Far Eastern characters may display as question marks in the Administration or Data Management consoles.
