When you install a CA DLP client machine, the following features are listed in the Custom Setup screen of the client installation wizard:
CA DLP Client
This feature installs the CA DLP infrastructure. This enables the various components to run and communicate. You cannot install other features without also installing the infrastructure.
Management Console
This enables the host system to run these consoles:
Enables administrators to manage users, machines, and policies, view log files, train content agents, and so on.
Lets reviewers search for, view and update the audit status for captured and imported events.
Note: By default, only the Administration console is installed with the Management Console.
Content Registration
This enables CA DLP endpoint agents to use Content Agent triggers to detect fingerprinted files.
Agents
These features (or ‘endpoint agents’) enable CA DLP to integrate with e-mail and browser applications on the client machine, and to detect when other specified applications are being used. Endpoint agents include:
This enables capture or control of any Web activity in Internet Explorer or Windows Explorer.
Note: You can optionally turn off integration with Windows Explorer using general variable WGNNOEXPLORER.
This enables capture or control of any Outlook-based e‑mail activity. If both the Outlook and Internet Explorer integration features are installed, CA DLP can also capture or control any Web activity when Outlook is used as a Web browser.
Note: Integration with Outlook browsers requires a minimum version of Internet Explorer (see ‘Client machines’ in Hardware and software requirements). It can be optionally disabled using general variable WGNNOOUTLOOKBROWSER.
This enables capture or control of any Notes-based e‑mail activity.
This enables CA DLP to monitor usage of other desktop applications and capture application usage metrics.
Commonly known as the CFSA, this agent enables CA DLP to control attempts to copy or save files to removable devices, such as USB flash drives. If Windows Explorer or a DOS command is used to copy files to removable devices, the File System Agent can also apply policy in real time to the file being copied.
Commonly known as the CPSA, this agent enables CA DLP to capture or control attempts by users to print documents on local or network printers.
