1.0 Welcome

Welcome to the CA Common Services for z/OS readme. This readme contains issues and other information discovered after publication. For a complete list of the known issues for this release and details about how the features and enhancements might affect you, see the Release Notes.

2.0 Known Issues

2.1 JCL Procedures

Be sure to use the JCL procedures that come with this release. Do not use any existing JCL procedures you may have from previous releases.

2.2 Changes and Obsolescence

Review the Release Notes for important information about changes to data set names. Particularly note that deployed data sets that have a low level qualifier of the form CxxxLINK must be placed in the system linklist.

2.3 CAIENF Datacom Plan Update

Make sure to follow the instructions in the Installation Guide to import the ENF Version 14.0 Datacom Database Plan if you utilize an ENF database and are upgrading from CAIENF Release 12.0.

2.4 CICS JCL Review

When implementing CA-ENF/CICS Version 14.0, it is imperative that all CICS JCL be reviewed to determine if a region runs with a private area copy of the CA ENF/CICS intercept module CAS9Cxx (where xx is the CICS release number 64-66).

A CICS region loads a private area copy of the intercept module if the module resides in either the CICS STEPLIB or a special DD in the CICS JCL called CENFLIB. If it is determined that a CICS region is running in such a manner under CA Common Services r11 or r12.0, the JCL must be modified to point to the new CA Common Services CAW0LOAD data set at the time when CA Common Services v14.0 is implemented. Failure to do so can lead to unpredictable results.

Note: Support for CICS TS releases below 3.1 have been dropped in CA Common Services Version 14.0.
