Start and Reply to Discussions

If you can access the requisition, you can start new discussions and reply to existing messages. To create new messages of any kind, be they to start a new discussion or reply to an existing message, use the Discussion Message: Properties page.

To start a new discussion or reply to an existing message

  1. Open the requisition for which you want to create or participate in a discussion.

    The Requisition Properties page appears.

  2. Click the Discussions tab.

    The Requisition Discussions: Messages page appears.

  3. Do one of the following:

    Both actions take you to the Discussion Message: Properties page, which you will use to create your message.

  4. In the Subject field, enter a name for the message.
  5. Enter questions or comments in the Message Text field.
  6. Click the Browse icon to attach a document, if desired.
  7. If you deselect the Notify Participants check box, then message recipients will not receive notification of a discussion message. Leaving the check box selected means that message recipients will notification that a new discussion message is available for their review.

    You can specify your notification settings, such as email, from your Account Settings: Notifications page.

  8. Click Submit to send the message.

    After you submit the message, you will see it listed in the Messages section of the Requisition Discussion: Messages page.
