How to Set Up a Filter Portlet

Before you create a filter portlet to use on a page, identify the following:

• All portlets that are to appear on the page
• Fields on each of the portlets that you want to map to the filter portlet fields

For a filter portlet to work, its fields must be mapped to the appropriate fields in the portlets that provide content on the page.

The following steps show how to configure a filter portlet for a page:

1. Create the filter portlet.
2. Add fields to the filter portlet:
   • Add a Boolean, date, money, number, string, or URL field.
   • Add a lookup or multi-value lookup field.
3. Determine the field layout on the filter portlet.
4. Add the filter portlet to a dashboard.
