Modeling Preferences
You use modeling preferences to design and enhance the appearance of a model. Modeling preferences help you to improve the presentation of a model. For example, you can:
- Specify options for laying out relationship lines.
- Align entities, tables, and database views on a grid.
- Set the option for automatic resizing of entities, tables, and views.
- Lay out the entire diagram window.
- Set the maximum display length for definitions, comments, and view expressions.
- Define how the shadow effect will appear for entities, tables, and views within a model.
- Specify relationship phrase and foreign key phrase options.
Your preferences and settings are stored in a model template. Settings such as background color, foreign key color, and shadow offset are automatically applied to each new model based on the template.
