Define Teradata Permissions

You can use the Permission editor to add and define permissions at the server level in a Teradata physical model.

To define Teradata permissions

  1. Click Permissions on the Database menu.

    The Permission Editor opens.

  2. Select a permission and work with the following options:

    Note: Click New <New> icon in property editors on the toolbar to create a new permission.

    Name

    Specifies the name of the permission.

    Type

    Specifies the type of permission that is being granted. Select from the drop-down list. Valid values are: Grant or Revoke.

    With Grant

    Select to let the user grant this permission to another user.

  3. Work with the following fields on the General tab:
    Permissions to Grant

    Specifies the permissions that are allowed.

    All

    Check this box to select all the permissions and disable the Detailed Permissions section.

    All Except

    Specify that, if set, will allow all permissions except the ones that are being selected.

    Principals to Grant

    Specifies the principals to grant.

  4. (Optional) Click the Comment tab and enter any comments you want associated with the permission.
  5. (Optional) Click the UDP tab to work with user-defined properties for the permission.
  6. Click Close.

    The Permission Editor closes.
