Introduction

The CA Business Service Insight web service API provides access to the services, vendors, categories, weight sets and calculated natural and weighted SMI scores for services defined in the CA Business Service Insight database. You use the API to obtain public data defined on the CA Business Service Insight Overlord system or private data defined on a customers’ off premise database.

The CA Business Service Insight API is a RESTful web service interface for use by third party applications who wish to interface directly with the SMI data generated by CA Business Service Insight. These web services can be used in scripts such as PERL, cURL, Ruby, and so on.

The CA Business Service Insight web service provides access to the following resources that are available in the global Cloud Commons database or the local integrated database:

• Services
• Providers
• Categories
• Capabilities
• Organizations
• Weight sets
• Mdrs
• Surveys
• Metrics
• Indicators

You use the web service to obtain a calculated caparison score based on category or demographic for services defined in the CA Business Service Insight database

You can also use the web service to approve or reject services, and to move service related metric data from one service to another.

You can use the web service to input metric or indicator related data that is used in the calculation of comparison scores.
