The data set where TSO maintains information about its users is called SYS1.UADS, the TSO user attributes data set. UADS stores information about each of its users, such as passwords and accounting information. Because this information is not encrypted, anyone who accesses UADS can read its contents. If an access control package is not in use, a data set password must be assigned to UADS after z/OS installation because UADS is not protected by default.
