SYSGEN and IOGEN

Although these terms refer to obsolete operating system functions, you may still hear them referenced from time to time. SYSGEN and IOGEN referred to the process whereby system options and parameters are chosen, followed by the regeneration of the operating system with the modified options. IOGEN was basically a subset of the SYSGEN process in that it was used to modify the system I/O configuration, perhaps to add or delete devices.
