Removable Media Disks

Removable media disk drives are also a critical concern from the access control software standpoint. For example, an APF library can exist on a disk pack named XYZ. It is possible to substitute another pack labeled XYZ for the original. Access control software cannot detect the difference between the original pack and the substitute pack. It is also possible to take a removable disk pack from the data center, modify the information contained on it, and return it to the system. Access control software cannot prevent changes to the pack when it is off the system.
