Remote Consoles

Data centers that use remote readers, printers, terminals, and so on, often have operator consoles available at these remote locations. For example, these data centers often have a remote job entry (RJE) station located off‑site. In this case, the remote console primarily checks on job status, displays jobs in the output queue, determines if their remote equipment was online or offline, and so on. Use all remote consoles that are located outside of a secured area, such as the computer room, for information only, and do not permit them to issue operator commands.
