This Usage Guide provides instructional information for data processing professionals who use CA Auditor to review the security, integrity, and control of the z/OS operating system. The major topics described in this guide include background information about the need for thorough reviews of the z/OS operating system and basic z/OS system architecture and control concepts.
This chapter provides an introduction to CA Auditor and an introduction to the key information needed for z/OS management. You can review z/OS installation options and parameters, key technical facilities, the job entry subsystem (JES), job control language (JCL), and the jobs processed on the system. CA Auditor also finds information about the programs and files used on the system.
