Specifying CA Endevor Elements

CA Endevor elements use a naming convention different to z/OS. An CA Endevor element name comprises:

Each part can be as long as eight characters, except for the element, which can be 10 characters, a separate screen is used to specify them.

To compare CA Endevor elements

  1. Enter +ENDEVOR for the library name.

CA Auditor prompts with Specify Endevor Element screen.

  2. Enter all the parts of the element name.

CA Auditor retrieves the element from CA Endevor and compares it. CA Auditor creates a “baseline” freeze for the programs and stores the resulting signature data in the database. For a first freeze, no change detection is possible yet. The Program Freezer Add panel redisplays with your input and a temporary message indicating the number of new additions.

The Source Compare Results screen displays the lines of code that appear in the more current version of the program, but not in the older version.
