Rank the Product Backlog

The default Backlog page displays the entire backlog for a product. User stories and issues are displayed by title, release, sprint, assignee, and other details. The backlog list is ranked by highest importance to lowest.

You can rank user stories either by editing the order number for the user story in-line or by dragging and dropping.

Note: When you sort the backlog on a column, ranking is disabled and the Rank # column is hidden. The the rank order is saved. To re-enable ranking, click Re-enable Rank.

To rank the backlog with drag-and-drop:

Follow these steps:

  1. Select a user story or issues (anywhere on the line) with your mouse. The selected line highlights in a different color and a message confirms that you have selected the row.
  2. Drag-and-drop the line on the appropriate rank position.

The new ranking is automatically saved.
