Unable to install/uninstall CA ARCserve D2D On Demand if a previous attempt was interrupted
If during an attempt to install or uninstall CA ARCserve D2D On Demand, the install/uninstall process was interrupted, you may not be able to successfully continue and complete the process.
For example, any of the following conditions could cause a partial install/uninstall state:
- If your network connection becomes broken while you are installing CA ARCserve D2D On Demand from a remote computer.
- If your computer is shut down in middle of install/uninstall process.
- If you encounter a power outage during install/uninstall and there is no Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS).
- If you click the Cancel button during CA ARCserve D2D On Demand install/uninstall process.
To resolve this problem, perform the following steps:
- Enter "regedit" in the Run dialog and click OK to open Registry Editor.
- Locate and delete the following entry:
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\CA\CA ARCserve D2D"
- Use the search option in the Registry Editor to locate and delete all occurrences of the following string:
- [CA ARCserve D2D On Demand for x86]: {97270DB5-DB8F-467F-9C52-1AF57C55EA60}
- [CA ARCserve D2D On Demand for x64]: {611E0884-4C83-4740-A3A9-9EB00D784E8D}
- Reboot the computer and re-attempt the installation/uninstallation of CA ARCserve D2D On Demand.
