Automatic Purging of Archive Log Files

Symptom:

How can I purge ArchiveLog files?

Solution:

You can enable automatic purging of archive logs once they have been backed up by adjusting the following registry value:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ComputerAssociates\CA ARCServe Backup\OraPAAdp

Value: LogPurge

Data: 1

Note: The LogPurge entry lets you enable or disable the function that purges the archive redo logs after they have been backed up a second time. Purging the archive redo logs frees disk space. The default value is 0 (off). You can modify this entry.
