Configure IBM 3494 Drives

To have the Library Option configure the drive controlled by the CA ARCserve Backup server after adding or removing a drive from the CA ARCserve Backup server, perform the following procedure:

Note: Before re-configuring the drives in the library, stop the CA ARCserve Backup Tape Engine.

  1. The IBM 3494 Library Option will prompt you to remove all volumes from the tape drives connected to your CA ARCserve Backup server. Removing all of the volumes allows the IBM 3494 Library Option to more easily configure your system.
  2. Click Auto Config, and the IBM 3494 Library Option will search the library for the newly added drive.

    When it has finished, it will appear in the drive list.

  3. Click Next.

    The Volume Configuration screen appears allowing you to select the volumes you want assigned to the CA ARCserve Backup server. For more information see Configure IBM 3494 Volumes.
