Prerequisites

Consider the following installation prerequisites:

• You must install the Client Agent for Windows on the agent computers to provide communication capabilities between the agents and the CA ARCserve Backup server. To back up the VSS writers on the agent computers, you must license the Agent for Open files on the CA ARCserve Backup server.
• To install the Enterprise Option for VSS Hardware Snap-Shot, you must verify that you have installed, or will be installing, the CA ARCserve Backup Server and Manager packages.

  Note: The Enterprise Option for VSS Hardware Snap-Shot is one of the options included in the Enterprise Module, and requires a separate license for each computer on which the option is installed.
