CA ARCserve Backup Install the CA ARCserve Backup Server components on the system that is designated to function as a primary server or a stand-alone server. Agent for Virtual Machines Install the agent on the system that is designated to function as the backup proxy system. The best practice is to allow the backup server to function as the backup proxy system. However, if you feel that this configuration can impose performance issues on the server, install the agent on a remote system and allow it to function as the backup proxy system. Note: You must register the agent license on the CA ARCserve Backup server. VMware VCB Framework/VDDK Ensure that VMware VCB Framework or VDDK is installed on the system that will function as the backup proxy system. Note: The r16 release of the agent installs VDDK 1.2.1 and the r16 Service Pack 1 release of the agent installs VDDK 5.0. If you want to use the version of VDDK that the agent installs, you do not need to install VDDK. |
CA ARCserve Backup Install the CA ARCserve Backup Server components on the system that is designated to function as a primary server or a stand-alone server. Agent for Virtual Machines Install the agent on the Hyper-V host system. Note: You must register the agent license on the CA ARCserve Backup server. |
