You use the Access Client Lists (ACL) to identify the specific remote CA ARCserve Backup servers permitted to back up a Sybase database. If the CA ARCserve Backup Client Agent for Windows is installed, you can create and edit ACLs from the Administration section of the client agent.
If you have not installed the CA ARCserve Backup Client Agent for Windows, you can create ACLs manually by adding new registry values under:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\ComputerAssociates\CA ARCserve Backup\UniversalClientAgent\ACL
Change the following registry values as described:
Add CA ARCserve Backup server names. You can add one server name per line.
Select one of the following options:
All CA ARCserve Backup servers are permitted to back up the database (default).
Only CA ARCserve Backup servers on the list are permitted to back up the database.
Only CA ARCserve Backup servers not on the list are permitted to back up the database.
