Specify Compression on Cloud-Based Device

CA ARCserve Backup lets you compress the backup data that is stored on the cloud-based device.

Note: The following steps describe how to turn compression on and off.

To specify compression on cloud-based devices

  1. Open the Device Manager and select the specific cloud-based device from the Servers directory tree.

    If the device supports compression, then CA ARCserve Backup enables the Compression toolbar button. To verify if the device supports compression, select the Detail tab when the device is highlighted.

  2. Right-click the cloud-based device and click Compression on the pop-up menu or click Compression on the toolbar.
  3. Click OK to set the Compression Mode to Off (if it is On) or On (if compression is Off).
