Select a Server from Server Admin

You can manage a CA ARCserve Backup Server from a remote machine by using the Server Admin. If you are running the CA ARCserve Backup Server Admin remotely, you can select a server by clicking the Select Server button.

To manage a CA ARCserve Backup Server from the Server Admin, perform the following procedure:

1. Click the Select Server button, or choose Select Server from the Admin Menu.

   The Select CA ARCserve Backup Server dialog box opens.

2. Select a server from the Available Servers list.
3. Select the option Set as Default Server to make this your default server.
4. Click OK.

   Note: You may be prompted to enter a user name and password in order to gain access to the selected server.

   To specify a local user account, enter the appropriate password and click OK.

   To specify a Windows domain user account, use the following syntax:

   Domain Name\User Name
   

   To specify a NetWare domain user account, enter the full NDS context.

   To specify a UNIX/Linux user account, enter the user name for the UNIX/Linux system.
