ca_vcbpopulatedb - VMware VCB Utility Command

The VMware VCB utility command (ca_vcbpopulatedb) is a data collection tool that lets you populate the CA ARCserve Backup database with information about the VMware-based VMs in your backup environment. You must execute this utility on the backup proxy system. The utility then retrieves all the information pertaining to all the VMs in the VMware ESX Host systems and the VMware vCenter Server systems and adds it to the database.

You should run this utility periodically to ensure that the CA ARCserve Backup database contains up-to-date information about the VMs and volumes in ESX Host systems. If you have the CA ARCserve Backup server (primary/member) installed on the proxy machine, then you can use generic job scheduler to run this utility periodically.
