Copy Operation Options

The Operation options for Copy determine related actions that occur during or after the copy operation, and the level of information that is recorded in the database.

Basic Operations Options

The basic Operation options for Copy are:

• Mirror--Create a mirror image of the source machine on the destination. Copy files and directories from source and delete all files and directories that do not appear on source.
• Delete Files--Delete files from the source machine after copying to destination.
• Create Empty Directories--Select this operation to verify the directory structure is returned and all directory and trustee assignments as well.
• Copy Files--Copy the file-level security information for file access on NTFS volumes (NTFS volumes only).

Note: Although the backups of the files will be decompressed, the files on disk will remain compressed.

Database Options

The Database Operation options for Copy are:

• Record Job Information Only

  Keeps a record of the current job in the CA ARCserve Backup database.

• Disable Database Recording

  Does not keep a record of the job in the CA ARCserve Backup database.
