This message occurs for one of the following reasons:

• You attempted to restore one or more files or directories without positioning information (directories do not have positioning information). Avoid selecting directories as part of the same restore job. Select individual files to restore.
• The NAS vendor may not support direct access restore.

Action:

CA ARCserve Backup uses selective file restore rather than direct access restore. The operation may take longer than a direct access restore. See the NDMP NAS Option Guide for more information.
