Reason:

The drive indicated in the message reported an error while a read or a write operation was in progress. A read/write error can be caused by a faulty drive, a dirty drive, or a bad or dirty tape.

Action:

CA ARCserve Backup runs a cleaning job to correct the error.

• If the cleaning job is successful, CA ARCserve Backup generates Warning W6974.
• If the cleaning job failed, CA ARCserve Backup generates Error E6973
