ARCserve on Member server could not establish ODBC connection to ASDB DB in SQL Server instance = <Instance Name> on server <ComputerName>. Hence ARCserve will communicate to DB through the ARCserve primary server <ComputerName> using RPC. This is not an optimal way to access DB. Please see help for rectifying this situation. (Possible reason: User account for ARCserve is empty).

Reason:

The member server cannot access SQL server through ODBC, although the primary server is using SQL server (not SQL Server Express).

Action:

Repair the communication using the SQL Server Configuration Manager and then use the Server Configuration wizard to repair the ODBC communication between the Database Engine and the CA ARCserve Backup database instance.
