User Profile Utility
The User Profile Utility lets the CA ARCserve Backup administrator manage user profiles and provide access to CA ARCserve Backup.
The CA ARCserve Backup User Profile Manager allows the CA ARCserve Backup root user to add users and provide access to CA ARCserve Backup. The user profile policy includes:
When you install CA ARCserve Backup, the caroot user profile is set up, by default, with the administrator group assigned to it. The Administrator group provides control over all CA ARCserve Backup functions operating within a given CA ARCserve Backup domain. It is associated with the caroot profile.
CA ARCserve Backup is designed with the caroot super-user profile, which is automatically assigned root privileges for all CA ARCserve Backup functions. The password for the caroot profile can be set during the set up of the program, or later, using the CA ARCserve Backup User Profile Manager. Additional user profiles can be created using the User Profile Manager.
CA ARCserve Backup User Names control access only to CA ARCserve Backup related functions, and should not be confused with the operating system required log in name and password.
Using the User Profile utility the CA ARCserve Backup server administrators can Add a user, Delete a user, Change a user's password, and Assign a user to a group.
