Select Media Groups and Media for Your Job

The browser is also used to select the media groups and media that you want to use for your jobs. Depending on the job you want to perform, you may need to select a media group as your source or destination. Whether a media group is the job's source or destination, the method for selecting them is the same.

To select a media group:

1. Highlight the name of the media group you want to use.

   The name of the media group appears in the Group field. If you select a media group only, any media found in a drive in the media group will be used for the operation.

To select media:

1. Double-click on the name of the media group that the media is in.

   The browser shows you all the media found in the media group. The name of this media group appears in the Group field.

2. Highlight the name of the media you want to use.

   The name of the media appears in the Media field.

   Depending on the job you want to perform, whether the media and media group are the source or destination, and what (if any) options are specified for the media and media group, CA ARCserve Backup only uses this media for this job.
