Add, Delete, and Modify RAID Devices

You can add, delete, or modify a RAID device at any time using Device Configuration.

To add, delete, or modify a RAID device, perform the following procedure:

1. From the CA ARCserve Backup home page, open the Configuration menu and select Device Configuration.
2. Choose the server you want to configure, and then click Next.
3. On the Options dialog, select the RAID Device option button, and then click Next.
4. To add, delete, or modify a RAID device, follow these instructions:
   • To add a new RAID device, click New.
   • To delete a RAID device, select the device and click Delete.
   • To assign a device to a RAID, select the RAID in the RAID column, select the device in the Device column, and then click Assign.
   • To remove a device from a RAID, select the device and click Remove.
   • To change the RAID level, select the RAID and click Properties.
5. When you are done, click Next to open the Summary screen. Review the information about the RAID devices you have configured, and click Finish to accept the changes.
6. A dialog opens, informing you that you need to restart the Tape Engine for the new settings you have configured to take effect.
7. Click OK to exit the Setup program.
8. Restart the CA ARCserve Backup Tape Engine.
