Database Engine

This engine is responsible for maintaining the history of several things:

• Files, directories, storage devices, and machines on which CA ARCserve Backup has performed a function.
• Information about jobs that have been processed by CA ARCserve Backup, such as the type, the final result, the start and end time.
• Backup media used by CA ARCserve Backup, such as its name, date it was first formatted, date it expires, and number of sessions.
• Machines on the network, such as the name, domain or workgroup they belong to.

The Database Engine captures the important details of every job.
