Device Manager Basics

The Device Manager provides information about storage devices that are connected to your system, the media in these devices, and the status of these devices. When you highlight a storage device or the adapter card it is configured to, summary information is displayed about the adapter card or the storage device, such as the vendor, model name, and board configuration. It is the starting point for all media and device monitoring and maintenance operations.
