Edit Agent Option Information

After submitting a backup job, the Security and Agent Information dialog opens. The agent information can be changed by selecting the machine and clicking Agent.

To edit agent option information

  1. Select the Use Computer Name Resolution check box. This is the recommended method, and it works even if you do not know the computer's IP address.

    Note: If the target computer has a dynamic IP address, then you must use Computer Name Resolution.

    There are some situations in which you might have to enter an IP address instead:

    Computer Name Resolution fails--If Computer Name Resolution fails, you must enter the computer's IP address. Computer Name Resolution may fail due to various DNS server or network configuration issues.

    Target computer has multiple IP addresses--If the target computer has multiple network cards (and therefore multiple IP addresses), CA ARCserve Backup will use the first IP address that the computer returns. To be certain that a specific address is used, enter it in the text boxes provided.

  2. Click OK.

    The Agent Option information is changed.
