You can schedule Backup, Restore and Copy jobs in essentially the same way, using the Schedule options available in the CA ARCserve Backup Manager. You can configure Backup jobs to use rotation schemes, as described in the topic Using Rotation Schemes
Running a job now or schedule it for a later time
Run your job immediately when:
When should you not run a job immediately?
If your storage device is currently busy and you want to run a backup job as soon as the drive is free, you should not select Run Now. Instead, you should schedule your backup job, keeping the current date and time. This way, when CA ARCserve Backup discovers that the storage device is busy, it automatically retries the backup job until the drive becomes free.
If you select Run Now, CA ARCserve Backup will report that the storage device is busy and the backup job will not be submitted to the job queue. Instead, you will be asked to wait until the drive is available before you can resubmit the job.
Running a Job Immediately
To run your job immediately, in the Submit Job dialog box, select Run Now and click OK. The Job Status Manager opens so that you can watch the progress of your job.
