Remote Site Management

Remote site translation using CA 2E has several advantages:

• The location is often more convenient for the translator.
• Translation can take place after the application has "gone live."
• It is not necessary to set up foreign keyboard mapping on the development machine.

The key principle in the maintenance of remote environments is that only the export library is sent to the remote site, not the whole data library.

Note: The export and import procedures described in this chapter should be used where the actual text translation is done on a remote site. The remote site does not need CA 2E or your application model.
