For input and output processing, if CA 1 rejects the tape volume for use, CA 1 issues a console message IECTMS3 to indicate the reason for the reject before the tape is demounted. If another tape volume can be used to satisfy the tape volume mount request, the mount message is reissued. If another tape cannot be used to satisfy the tape volume mount request, CA 1 issues a system abend S7xx-04 where xx is the CA 1 SVC number in hexadecimal after the reject message.
CA 1 can also utilize the LCD display on a 3480 cartridge unit to display the NOT SCRATCH reason code when CA 1 rejects a cartridge for use. The CA 1 parameter MG3480 in member TMOOPTxx in hlq.CTAPOPTN specifies whether this feature is used. Apply usermod CTSJUMSG to display the NO SCRATCH.
